Welcome to the Tool Kit

The ACCORD Tool Kit, which you see at the right-hand side of this page, is designed to provide valuable information for anyone who wants to work to start new arts & culture programming in English-speaking communities throughout Quebec's regions.

Whether you have big plans for a fresh new festival, founding a community theatre troupe, starting an open-mic poetry night at a local café, or just gathering with a few friends to do a play reading or start a film club, our researchers have worked to present practical advice in plain language. We hope you will find the information you need to bring your ideas to life.

The Tool Kit is divided into three sections that answer common questions asked by Presenters, Artists and Educators. Click on the headings in the right-hand menu to navigate between sections.

The March Workshops 2012 section is uniquely interesting, because it summarizes the many inspiring ideas to emerge during the ACCORD Touring Workshop with Regional Delgates. The workshops were led by Brenda Rooney (Wakefield), Jennifer Cooke (St-Jérôme), Anne Clark & Elsa Bolam (Montréal) and Kate Wisdom (Eastern Townships)  -- five women with extensive experience building cultural events and institutions in communities across the province.

When you're ready to dig deeper, the Resources section includes links to a number of useful documents and websites to help feed your research.

The launch of Tool Kit marks the halfway point of the ACCORD Project. Throughout the year, we will continue to work to expand and improve the Tool Kit.

If you came here with questions that the Tool Kit does not answer, let us know! Your feedback is an important part of making this site a useful aid.
