ACP (Association of Canadian Publishers)

Collective voice of English-language, Canadian-owned book publishers.

The ACP aims to encourage the writing, publishing, distribution and promotion of Canadian books. Through the organisation, members have the opportunity to help shape the policy climate for Canadian publishers.

Access Copyright

Access Copyright, The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency, is a not-for-profit agency established to license public access to copyright works.

The agency now represents a vast international repertoire along with more than 8,000 Canadian creators and publishers.

Any Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has published works in Canada in print form and is not affiliated with another RRO (e.g. COPIBEC) can apply to become an Access Copyright affiliate. This includes writers, illustrators and photographers and publishers of books, magazines, journals and newspapers.

AEJQ (Association des écrivains québécois pour la jeunesse)

Provincial, francophone association of children's authors, supported by CALQ, CAM, and the CCA.

Canadian Bookbinders and Book artists Guild (CBAG)

CBBAG is a volunteer-run organisation for bookbinders and associated craftspeople with over 500 members.

CBBAG promotes and supports activities such as the art of bookbinding, artists' books, papermaking, calligraphy, letterpress printing & typography, wood engraving, paper decorating, restoration, and conservation.

QDF (Quebec Drama Federation)

Umbrella theatre group for the entire English language milieu, representing government agencies, arts organisations, and community groups.

CCW (Capital Crime Writers)

Small group of writers, mostly in the Ottawa area, who meet regularly to exchange and collaborate on crime fiction projects.

Capital Crime Writers has grown to a group of over seventy members who meet on the second Wednesday of every month at the Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa. There is always a meet and greet from 7:00 to 7:15, prior to every meeting with the meetings alternating each month between a writing workshop and a guest speaker. Our guest speakers address topics related to crime or some element of investigation.

Wordwrights Canada

Small association to help writers maintain a high professional standard of writing, be it fiction, literary nonfiction, or poetry.

A democratic trade union recognized and certified under federal and provincial labour legislation.

Boasts over 6000 members, all of whom work in Canadian media.
