An exhibition of paintings by artist Mary Harman

The subject matter of these paintings are the surrounding landscape as well as the modest dwellings in the area -  tiny houses that survive in the face of a changing world. The paintings are a tribute to this place I call home, to my neighbors, to the spirits of the past that dwell in Vale Perkins.

This exhibition is composed of works never shown before in Montréal, and will be accompanied by the presentation of her new book Madonna & Child or  Re-parenting my Inner Child,  a collection of over 40 of her works published by HeuteKunst.

Ormstown's Editions Mouton Rose presents its first event as ARTS SUD-OUEST - the show, "Art Interactive", will feature wood cut and lino printing demonstrations as well as locally crafted puppets, dolls and paper products.

Produced in conjunction with Les Journees de la Culture, the show's primary theme of "The Art of Work" also showcases paintings by local artists.

The gallery, 45 minutes south west of Montreal  - at 55 rue Lambton in Ormstown, is open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 - 17:00, Sundays noon until 17:00.

A play by Carole Fréchette, internationally acclaimed and Governor General Award-winning playwright, performed in Montréal for the first time in English. Beatrice waits up her tower in her nearly empty room for the perfect man to arrive. John answers the call. Will the ever-longing-for-perfection eternal feminine find love? Will the mythical macho adventurer find insight and settle down? A cross between a Greek Myth and a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Playing from Oct. 14 to November 9, Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 PM, with matinées on Sunday at 2 PM (Mondays: DARK).

All levels are welcome from first time amateurs who want to try the basic drawing exercise to professional artists honing their skills.

For 15$, you get small group sizes, a professional and experienced model, and perfect lighting and temperature. Most importantly a comfortable and creative atmosphere is assured. Plenty of red and white wine, cheeses, nuts etc. will be served. So come ready to eat, converse, drink and draw!

featuring the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joseph Milo.

Come listen to magnificent orchestral music, including The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Carnival of the Animals, Night on Bald mountain, Sabre Dance and other favorites.

We are featuring the famous magician Blair Marshall to intrigue you with his tricks, and we will have Destination Danse, a troop of 8 beautiful young dancers who will colourfully interpret the musical pieces.

Brick and Maggie “The Cat” have returned to his father’s Mississippi plantation to celebrate the ailing Big Daddy’s birthday. Rivalry and intrigue abound as everyone fights over who will succeed the old man and assume control over the property. Through all the bickering and fighting, everyone tries desperately to hold onto whatever happiness and dignity the family still possesses. But a storm is brewing, and they are powerless to stop it.
