HyeKyong Yun

Vernissage: Friday, November 14th, 2008, 5 to 8 pm

This exhibition is an objectification of HyeKyong’s self-portraiture onto other subjects. Its focus is on Asian males in their twenties; not yet men, but no longer boys. The loss of communication between the human being and the environment that surrounds him as he searches for his identity is exposed by the subject’s melancholy: a deep emptiness in his facial expression and gesture as he interacts with the world around him.

Isabelle Arcand, Natacha Filiatrault, Léa Robert, Émilie Glaveen-Sirois, Francis LaHaye, Mira Gauthier & Christian LeBlanc

Part 1 : Cible de Dieu by Jacques Poulin-Denis

It screams, it’s raw, it’s urgent. It’s about sex, love, emotional desire and the need to please. Les Cuisses à l’Écart du Coeur tells the story of men and women living a fallacious sexuality. With the sexual act, they refute their true selves by denying their real desire and they reproduce social stereotypes that have nothing to do with how they really feel.
