HyeKyong Yun

Vernissage: Friday, November 14th, 2008, 5 to 8 pm

This exhibition is an objectification of HyeKyong’s self-portraiture onto other subjects. Its focus is on Asian males in their twenties; not yet men, but no longer boys. The loss of communication between the human being and the environment that surrounds him as he searches for his identity is exposed by the subject’s melancholy: a deep emptiness in his facial expression and gesture as he interacts with the world around him.

La problématique de l'erreur (work-in-progress)
372 Ste-Catherine West #303

November 23rd 5pm. A project where three multidisciplinary artists (a musician/actor, a photographer/set designer, and a dancer/performer) play on stage in ways to interface together in an emergent process. Using a custom software, made to explore time-warped audiovisual renderings of what is being done on stage (through microphones, cameras and projectors explicitily manipulated by the performers—no technician involved), the artists explore freely a number of precisely defined situations (scenes). All this to question the notions of the perceived, the absolute, the error in their respective practices and platforms, putting the interacting bodies at the forefront of the discourse.
