This membership-based organisation helping dancers make necessary transitions into different careers, offers numerous scholarships and awards to members who are in the process of retraining after finishing a career in dance.
Established in 1985, the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) helps dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers. DTRC offers numerous awards and scholarships to its members who are currently retraining for a second career after being a professional dancer. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the DTRC Board of Directors. The Banff Centre
Dance Programs
The Banff Centre has Dance Apprentice, Training and Professional Dance workshops for dancers from a variety of backgrounds.
Set on a campus in a beautiful and inspiring mountain location, the Banff Centre, Alberta, is a prestigious and world-renowned arts, cultural, and educational institution and conference facility. The Dance program offers workshops, training for young dancers and workshops for professional dancers in classical ballet, pointe, variation, men’s classes, pas de deux (by audition), modern, and jazz. Dancers are given the opportunity to work with teachers and professionals of international stature.

YES Montreal and the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF)
YES and CYBF Loans
YES Montreal and CYBF offer a loan of up to $15,000 to help young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 34 to start a new business.
In order to find out all details about the program, you must attend a Grants & Loans information session at YES.

- Aged 18 to 34
- Demonstrate relevant knowledge and/or experience within your industry
- Work in the business on a full-time basis
- Present a business plan demonstrating the viability of your business
- Be in business for less than 12 months (from the time of your first sale)
- Must attend a Grants & Loans Information Session prior to applying for this program
