Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC)

This program provides a tax credit to film and video production companies to encourage Canadian programming and to develop an active domestic production sector.

This fully refundable tax credit is available at a rate of 25 percent of the qualified labour expenditure (QLE) of an eligible production.

Canadian Heritage Financial Support Programs
Film or Video Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC)

This tax credit is granted to foreign and Canadian production companies to enhance Canada as a location of choice for film and video productions.

The PSTC is also designed to strengthen the industry and secure investment. PSTC is available at a rate of 16 percent of qualified Canadian labour expenditures. This program is administered by The Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO).

OBORO
Production Assistance Program

OBORO offers production assistance and access to various resources and equipment at their New Media Lab at reduced rates to artists and independent producers for non-commercial projects.

The aim of this program is to provide assistance to artists and independent producers working on non-commercial projects who have had difficulty finding funding for their work.

PRIM Centre
Les Refusés

This program is for artists with a project that has been refused by other funding programs in the past eight months.

This unique grant program is for artists whose project has been refused by other funding agencies, but who still want to pursue their work. PRIM offers training and access to their facilities which you can use at your own pace.

Spark Plug Program

The aim of this program is to advance the skills of visible minority and aboriginal producers.

This program provides funding, professional development training and advances the creative and business skills of visible minority and aboriginal producers in the development of dramatic television. This includes increasing the number of promising television scripts available for licensing from these cultural groups, and promoting partnerships among producers and broadcasters.

The Actors' Fund of Canada is a registered charity that provides emergency financial assistance to entertainment industry professionals if they find themselves in financial crisis. The fund provides confidential and non-judgemental support for entertainment industry professionals in times of illness, injury, sudden unemployment or other circumstances that make it impossible to keep up with regular living expenses.

The Banff Centre's New Media Institute provides interdisciplinary and culturally diverse workshops, labs, summits, work/study opportunities, and production assistance in order to advance the work of artists and researchers using new media.

Set on a campus in a beautiful and inspiring mountain location, the Banff Centre, Alberta, is a prestigious and world-renowned arts, cultural, and educational institution and conference facility. Vidéographe
CORPus DVD

CORPus DVD assists artists in compiling a body of their work, or transferring their work into DVD format.

Vidéographe, one of the first video access centres in North America, sponsors the CORPus DVD program. This program assists artists who want to compile a body of work, on a particular theme, or from a specific period of their artistic production, in DVD format. Artists will be given free access to facilities, technical assistance and 25 copies of their DVD.

YES and CYBF Loans

YES Montreal and CYBF offer a loan of up to $15,000 to help young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 34 to start a new business.
