Arts Promotion Cultural Program

This grant is provided to Canadian groups and individuals for the promotion of Canadian culture abroad in all artistic disciplines by helping to cover the costs of international transportation.

As part of its International Cultural Relations Programme, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs supports Canadian arts and culture abroad by assisting Canadian individual artists and artistic groups with costs for promoting their work internationally. This includes contributing to costs related to touring and participation in important artistic events or international festivals.

These grants provide project support for Canadian non-profit organisations with festival programming initiatives.

Assistance for the Promotion of Architecture

These grants support organisations with projects that promote public education and appreciation for Canadian-designed buildings, places, and gardens.

The purpose of this grant program is to give the Canadian public the opportunity to improve their knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of buildings, places, and gardens designed by Canadians. These grants support special projects such as the production/publication of books, videos, TV programs, exhibitions and public events that have a minimum of 50 percent of their content dedicated to contemporary Canadian buildings, places and/or gardens.

For organisations that:

  • Are at least 75% Canadian-owned
  • Have a head office and executive located in Canada
  • Have produced at least three books, films, videos, television programs, exhibitions or events on contemporary arts or architecture in the past 10 years
  • Have satisfied all contractual obligations toward third parties that participated in earlier projects
  • Publishers must be currently benefitting from a grant from the Book Publishing Support Program to be eligible

    This program supports Aboriginal artists (working individually or together) to undertake activities that contribute to developing Aboriginal art forms.
