PEN Canada
Writers in Exile Network
This program provides different types of financial and creative support for writers, journalists, translators, essayists, editors and playwrights who have fled their country of origin due to persecution in violation of freedom of expression.
PEN Canada has developed the Writers in Exile Network to provide support for writers who have sought refuge in Canada due to persecution in violation of freedom, including freedom of expression, in their country of origin. Support includes but is not limited to assisting writers with finding academic placements residencies, publishing and lecturing opportunities, and internships. This aim of this program is allow writers in exile living in Canada to improve their access to a professional career as well as help them continue with their creative work.
