AGAC'S mandate is to introduce contemporary art to a wider audience, to contribute to the promotion of current artistic creation, to stimulate the art market and to defend its members' interests.

- Typical Membership
The Association is a group of contemporary art dealers. To be eligible, galleries must be in business for at least two years during which time at least five solo shows a year were presented. Applicants must be open to the public at least three days a week, and be committed to the sale and promotion of contemporary art. Artists, agents, consultants, and virtual galleries cannot become members of the AGAC.
