This workshop will look at the intersection of personal photography art practices and social engagement. Participants will be encouraged and guided into expanding their art practice towards the expression of works that deal with the social issues that touch them the most.
We will ask and answer questions about how our own work can effectively communicate, both in subtle and overt ways, that which we are passionately interested in raising awareness for. Participants will see firsthand, through the projects created by their course facilitator, the possibilities for social engagement using photography. In addition they will develop ideas in a workshop environment and get feedback on their own photography practice.
This session is co-presented by The Montreal Consortium of Human Rights Advocacy Training at McGill
