Our next free schmoozer is JUNE 3 from 5-8

Fri 26 Apr, 2013 - News

Our next Schmoozer & Minute Market will be on June 3, 2013 from 6-8PM.
To RSVP and find out more information, click HERE.

Location: Old Port Trois Brasseurs (105 St-Paul St. E.)

This Schmoozer follows the YES Artists' Conference & YES Arts Expo, which takes place down the street at the Marché Bonsecours. This is a closing gathering where artists and attendees are invited to meet and mingle. Joint schmoozers easily double our usual attendance and bring in a lot of fresh faces: this is a great way to meet new people in the arts and culture.

Do you want to promote your work? Our Minute Market is an excellent opportunity to promote your current projects. The first ten members to contact admin@quebec-elan.org will be given a one-minute spot to market their latest work. (You will also be asked to provide a book, CD, art object, or pair of tickets to be offered as a door prize at the Schmoozer.)

The Schmoozer will be open to everyone, YES Conference participant or not, ELAN member or non-member, artist or arts-lover. Feel free to bring a friend!

See you on June 3!

Director's Message - April 2013

Mon 01 Apr, 2013 - Director's Message

Made au Québec’s launch on March 22 attracted a lively crowd to the Belgo building’s Les Territoires gallery. The new ELAN website was widely covered by francophone media (La Presse, Radio Canada, Le Devoir, Huffington Post Québec). There might have been little or no interest in a website which aggregates news about Quebec's English-speaking artists if not for last summer's heated election campaign, the shooting at Métropolis, and all the debate concerning Bill 101.

"ELAN makes French connection" - read the article about Made au Québec in this morning's Gazette

Fri 22 Mar, 2013 - News

The Gazette published an article in today's edition about ELAN's Made au Québec project:

ELAN makes French connection

ELAN's new online platform, Made au Québec, features dance, cinema, music, writing, theatre and visual arts

If there’s anything people seem to rally around in Quebec, it’s our vital artistic culture.

In this spirit, the English Language Arts Network is launching a new online platform Friday called Made au Québec, featuring provincially produced dance, cinema, music, writing, theatre and visual arts.

The MAQ website is ELAN’s latest move to make the anglo scene more visible, aiming to present an extensive anglo artist network to new audiences and providing a space “to celebrate the arts between two creative cultures living side by side, with too little interaction or mutual recognition.”
