All the Voices Cry: A Book Launch for Alice Petersen

Published: Thu 26 Apr, 2012 -  Community Events

"Jake and I grew up without a mother, which wasn't that bad, although we ate a lot of boiled peas."

Or: "What remained of Hugh had been delivered to Jan in a corrugated cardboard box, marked Temporary Container."

Or: "Like a playing card with twelve diamonds on it, Mrs. Viebert possessed all the normal parts of ladies, but in greater quantities."

So begin three of the stories from Alice Petersen's All the Voices Cry, which David Bezmozgis has called "a wise and impression collection of stories," and Kathleen Winter described as "incredibly satsifying for a reader."

On Monday May 7th it's our great pleasure to launch this book with Alice at the Atwater Library: please do join us, and discover her for yourself. The event also features poet Chantel Lavoie (Where the Terror Lies, Quattro Editions).
