The CETM (the Centre for Education and Theatre in Montreal) offers the following services to the theatre community:
•Marketing strategy
•Fundraising campaign and donor management
•Grant writing
•P.R. and media relations
•Web design
•Theatrical events with strong community involvement and that provide opportunities for young people starting out in theatre to interact, work with and learn from seasoned professionals.
The CETM also in an effort to promote the local live performance talent pool, sponsors an annual talent competition in conjunction with CETM's summer management institute. Le Spotlight will not only create a buzz of its own but also provide real-world work opportunities for our trainees to put into practice what they have learned at CETM.
Another project of CETM is the "Next Wave Festival of New Musicals", premiering on August 21st, 2008 and running until August 26th. CETM is bringing more Broadway-style musical theatre to Montreal. The events take place at the McCord Museum's Bombardier Theatre and at the Gesu Theatre, and include "The Great American Trailer Park Musical", "I See London, I See France (the Underwear Musical)", "The Naked Voice", and "The Musical Theatre Audition Clinic". In essence, CETM is an organisation whose goals it is to strengthen the vitality of and to greatly broaden the reach of Montreal's English-language theatre.
