Carrie Haber

Carrie Haber is a writer, filmmaker and music composer/producer. Her most recent project is Pig Farm, a human rights documentary produced in concert with the NFB. Her stories, articles, poetry and essays have been published in Canada, the U.S., Czech Republic and the UK in various literary journals, anthologies and magazines. She won the 2002 CBC/QWF Short Story Competition, the Scribendi $5000 Short Story Award and recently received an SLS Kenya merit fellowship in the fiction category. Her journalism on issues of health and science, pop culture and politics can be found in Maisonneuve, SEED Magazine, Harrowsmith and others.

Carrie started in music production as an engineer at the Cargo Records' recording studio in Mile End. She has founded, toured with or produced rock bands since 1992. She has composed music for radio documentaries, TV and dance productions. Her latest project is the SoloandInch EP American Stamp, helped along by FACTOR and available through Delicate Records. She has worked in various production capacities for IMAX, the NFB, Donald K Donald and CBC. Carrie is half-Lebanese and is an incorrigible sixth-generation Montrealer.
