Walking Balance
This was the first experiment with the concept of "walking balance". This inspiration for this application is derived from engineering and physics, using the principle of a triangle as the strongest structural form. In 2008, the "three point balance" principle which supports each rock grew into legs, gradually elevating the rocks and giving them movement and momentum. I think they look like chickens, but everybody sees something different; whatever is seen, humor is just as important as the balance. Balance creates a stillness which promotes inner silence and peace. Humor is just plain happiness!
All prints are reconditioned in photoshop, imitating a gum dichromate non silver print. Photographed in September with a Nikon D 80 wide angle lens.
Giclée prints of the sculptures are available on water color paper at any size.
