Reflective Balance

I never know what a sculpture will become when I begin to make a piece; there is no plan or drawing but there is a feeling. My experience as an artist plus the benefit of many good teachers has inspired the following guide lines for this process:

1. "Creation cannot know itself before it is manifested"
2. "Go do and don't care"
3. "trust yourself and it will happen"
4. "experiment and discover" or as one professor said "F*** with it!"

Another words, I may not know where I'm going, but I can feel it coming.

In this piece, the compositional reference "repetition of form", is presented in an asymmetrical yet harmonious play of form and space, with the addition of balance between rock (earth), river (water) and air (sky).

All prints are reconditioned in photoshop, imitating a gum dichromate non silver print. Photographed in October with a Nikon D 80 wide angle lens.

Giclée prints of the sculptures are available on water color paper at any size.
