Repeating Distance.

artwork: Improvised dance and spoken word duet.

Repeating Distance is an improvised dance and spoken word duet. Lin Snelling and Guy Cools describe to their audience cities they have walked in and re-create the story in each performance, with each new city, and with each site specific performing space.

Canadian choreographer and performer Lin Snelling and Flemish dance dramaturge Guy Cools met as a result of their love for each other’s cities: Montreal and Antwerp. It inspired them to create an improvisational duet, in which they use motion and words to relive and reinterpret an original walking tour in each other other’s cities over and over and over again. It has been performed in Montreal, Antwerp, Vienna, and Brugge. Each time they move from a certain place or city to another, new images and memories are added to the existing repertoire of stories.
