Summer 2017 will be filled with celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation and the 375th anniversary of the founding of Montreal.<\/p>\n

ELAN received confirmation in late April for our Canada 150 project: a special 2017 edition of Arts Alive! Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>. Community arts festivals will take place in Knowlton in the Eastern Townships, Huntingdon in the Chateauguay Valley, Wakefield in West Quebec, the Morrin Centre in Quebec City, Hudson in the Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie and in Montreal\u2019s West Island. We\u2019re excited to work for the third time with our wonderful regional partners to showcase performing and visual artists as well as writers and filmmakers.<\/p>\n

What does this mean for ELAN members?<\/strong> Arts Alive! Qu\u00e9bec will provide work for dozens of artists<\/strong>, including specific opportunities for ELAN members<\/strong>. Follow ELAN on Facebook<\/a> and Twitter<\/a>, where we\u2019ll share the details as soon as we have them.<\/p>\n

Arts Alive! Qu\u00e9bec 2017 perfectly complements ELAN\u2019s current Canada Council Market Access projects<\/strong>. These projects will connect performing and visual artists with presenters, producers, and curators from the ROC, the USA, and beyond.<\/p>\n

Visual artists can apply now<\/a><\/strong> to have their work reviewed by New York and Toronto curators in October. And starting this month, ELAN\u2019s SAVVY Sessions for Performing Artists<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will offer hands-on skill development<\/strong> in promoting and touring works in dance, theatre, and music.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re actively exploring ways to adapt the Performing Arts Market Access project to artists\u2019 needs. If you haven\u2019t already, fill out this quick survey<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to tell us how we can help you<\/strong> push your work to the next level.<\/p>\n
