In addition to promoting ArtistsInspire to educators for the 2020-2021 school year, we are helping artists prepare for virtual facilitation through:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development of the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0054a6;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0054a6;\" href=\"https:\/\/artistsinspire.ca\/virtual-arted-facilitation-guide.pdf\">Virtual ArtistsInspire Facilitation Guide for Artists<\/a> <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">based on experience gained during spring-summer 2020 in our <\/span><span style=\"color: #0054a6;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0054a6;\" href=\"https:\/\/artistsinspire.ca\/free-youth-family-interactive-workshops\/\">Online Youth &amp; Family workshops<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discipline-specific Virtual Facilitation Learning Conversations\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Individual coaching and practice sessions with artists in preparation for upcoming virtual workshops\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting ArtistsInspire artists in obtaining educational discounts for tech and software upgrades<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We are also offering artists support in addressing important and potentially sensitive issues when working with children and youth. This includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continuing to offer training in mental health as it relates to children and youth<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting artists\u2019 learning <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on issues faced by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promoting facilitation of creative sense-making activities by minority Artists who want to engage youth through their experiences<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #17a46a;\"><strong>How will the program work this year?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All English public schools are eligible for one ArtistsInspire $1500 School Grant. Any educator\/ staff member from the school can Connect with an Artist and apply for and plan an ArtistsInspire interactive Arts &amp; Culture experience. Whether virtually or in-person, Artists facilitate at least two interactive sessions during which students create art led and modelled by the Artist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The ArtEd Team is working in partnership with arts and education organizations, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LEARN for the ten Quebec English School Board Association Boards,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inpath for the Cree Schools and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Youth Fusion for Kativik Schools<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, we are partnering with non-profit arts organizations Black Theatre Workshop, Geordie Theatre, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LEARN&#8217;s<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I Belong! <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initiative<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Poetry in Voice, and more, extending schools\u2019 Arts &amp; Culture experiences by combining programs and funding sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, in addition to offering one grant per school, we are offering grants to students participating in distance learning (offered by school boards to students with medical exemptions to school attendance) and students being homeschooled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s work together to bring quality arts experiences to our children, youth and communities whether on-line or in person!
