Research and creation residency in Nantes (France)

Résidences de recherche et de création à Nantes (France)

DESCRIPTION

In the context of this exchange, a Québec visual artist can reside for a two-month sojourn at Lieu Unique, in Nantes. A studio-apartment and work space will be made available to the artist.

Grants awarded by the Conseil under the Studios and studio-apartments section enable recipients to cover the cost of personal insurance, travel, living expenses and costs related to carry out their projects.

Information of the host institution
The Lieu Unique is a vibrant cultural facility dedicated to the visual arts, theatre, dance, circus arts, music and literature, as well as philosophy, architecture and the humanities. Located in close proximity to the railway station and downtown Nantes, the former Lieu Unique factory has taken on a new vocation since January 1,2000, becoming a dynamic and unconventional arts centre, an alternative space interweaving areas for the arts and social engagement. At Lieu Unique, spaces dedicated to creation and presentation coexist with others open to the public: a bar, restaurant, bookstore, Hammam and daycare.

Professional support for the residency sojourn is assured by the management and technical team at the Lieu Unique, which will provide assistance and logistical support to the invited artist for the duration of the residency.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDIO AND RESIDENCY PROGRAMS DIFFER CONSIDERABLY IN DURATION, DEADLINES AND SEASON IN WHICH THEY OCCUR. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THIS PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES AND TO REVIEW ALL DETAILS ON THE CALQ WEBSITE.
