Research residency for independent curators and visual artists in Brooklyn

Résidences de recherche pour commissaires indépendants et artistes en arts visuels à l’international studio and curatorial program de Brooklyn

DESCRIPTION

In 2011, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) concluded an agreement with the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in Brooklyn, New York, in the United States. This agreement calls for the establishment of a residency program that enables a Québec curator to engage in a three-month research residency in Brooklyn.

From 2018-2019, this program is also open to visual artists with more than five years of professional practice. Through this agreement, CALQ wishes to offer Québec professional curators or visual artists a new career development tool and initiate fruitful collaboration with the ISCP.

Information of the host institution
Established in 1994, the ISCP is one of the leading contemporary arts residency centres in the United States. The ISCP occupies in Brooklyn a building that houses 36 studios, exhibition rooms and a space in which to carry out projects. The ISCP fosters career advancement by enabling guest artists and curators to interact with New York’s artistic community and establish ties with it.

The International Studio and Curatorial Program makes available to the guest Québec curator a work space and ensures professional guidance during his stay.
Partially accessible for people with limited mobility.
Services for people with visual impairments.
