Dissemination of Works Outside of Quebec (Film & Visual Arts)

DESCRIPTION

This program enables organizations recognized for their excellence to undertake tours outside of Quebec. It serves to highlight the presence of Quebec arts and the presentation of their works outside of the province.

CRITERIA

Open to: Presenters, National and international events, Creative and/or production organizations, Service organizations, Organizations for production assistance

 

  • Organizations funded by SODEC or the Ministry of Culture and Communications are ineligible
  • Applications must be submitted at least three months prior to the start of the project
  • Maximum of eight concurrent projects with CALQ per year
  • Organizations receiving CALQ’s operating funding cannot submit a new application in any program if their fiscal year has been over for four months or longer and a report on the use of the grant, including financial statements, has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • Regardless of the program or section, an application cannot be made if a funded project has been completed for three months or longer and a report on the use of the grant has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • An applicant cannot present a project that has already been reviewed and rejected in the same fiscal year unless it has been significantly altered
  • Applications must be accompanied by written confirmation (contract or letter of commitment) from at least one recognized venue for the presentation of works 
  • Eligible projects include exhibitions, performance programs, digital arts, film and video programs, “art and community” projects or any other similar activity involving the presentation of works and travel outside Quebec 
  • Works must be presented in recognized venues
  • This program also recognizes participation in events or festivals where the selection of works and participants is made by professionals in the visual arts, fine crafts and architectural research, digital arts, film and video
  • Projects must only involve living artists and contribute to the influence of Quebec artists

EXPENSES

  • Fees and royalties (exposition, reproduction, publication, communication, representation, etc.)
  • Promotion material and publicity costs directly related to the project
  • Accommodation (maximum of $140 per day) and travel expenses for artists and other participants
  • Transport costs for artworks
  • Costs associated with presenting works
  • Equipment and location rental costs directly related to carrying out the project
  • Some travel costs and professional or contractual honoraria (consultants, technicians or any other specialist providing expertise to the project

  • Copies of the organization’s letters patent
  • List of board members
  • Copies of documents outlining the transaction terms between related parties (if applicable)
  • Copies of signed contracts with artists, presenters, participants, etc.
  • Letters of commitment from principal partners and venues
  • Curriculum vitae of artists and other participants
  • Press kit
  • Supporting audiovisual materials
