DESCRIPTION

The program is designed to foster the development, consolidation and adaptation needs of companies and organizations working in the Quebec film industry, in a context of evolving film supply, promotion and distribution of films.

Among the objectives of the program, the goal is to stimulate programming revenues for Quebec films and films from foreign cinematographies with low distributions and promote the competitiveness of Quebec film distribution and dissemination companies on national markets.

This section supports projects or strategic initiatives that help strengthen the role of companies in the promotion and distribution of Quebec cinema.

CRITERIA

To be eligible, companies must be active for at least two years or demonstrate relevant professional experience of the director or staff.

Likewise, these companies or trade associations are assessed on their experience and ability to to organize, manage, develop and evolve the projects for which they are requesting financial support:

  • Distributors
  • Commercial broadcasters (operators of commercial movie theaters and drive-in movie theaters)
  • Programming and distribution organizations
  • Producers
  • Quebec independent digital platforms and aggregators
  • Quebec associations working in the film industry
  • Any private organization with experience in the proposed project that can demonstrate a business link with the film industry

EXPENSES

  • Direct costs of labor assigned to the project, including mediation costs for project dissemination
  • Honorariums related to the project
  • Project production and implementation costs, including design and testing of a prototype
  • Expenses of materials and equipment specific to the project (limited to a maximum of 50% of the aid)
  • Promotion costs
  • Costs related to the purchase of specialized, relevant information required for the project
  • Equipment and materials transportation costs
  • Technological adaptation costs
  • Administration expenses (limited to a maximum of 10% of the aid)
  • All other expenses relevant and necessary to the realization of the project. In the case of collaborative projects with companies outside Quebec, only expenses incurred by the applicant company are eligible
