Arts and Literature – Regional Partnership – Production, Dissemination, Promotion and Eco-responsible Consolidation

DESCRIPTION

With a shared desire to support artistic creation and its dissemination in the community, the City of Québec and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (Conseil), in collaboration with Culture Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches, have signed an agreement to support projects that formally involve partnership initiatives on the territory of the City of Québec.
The projects submitted must focus on ecoresponsibility and involve partnership initiatives. They must meet at least one of the general objectives and one of the specific objectives.

CRITERIA

Applicants must:

  • Be headquartered in a regional county municipality or municipality targeted by the program
  • Have already been supported by another CALQ program, in the case of a residency
  • Applicants can submit only one application for a regional program per deadline
  • Regardless of the program or section, an application cannot be made if a funded project has been completed for three months or longer and a report on the use of the grant has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • Maximum of eight concurrent projects with CALQ per year
  • An applicant cannot present a project that has already been reviewed and rejected in the same fiscal year unless it has been significantly altered
  • Ineligible organizations include:
  • Organizations receiving funding from the Ministry of Culture and Communications or SODEC
  • Organizations dedicated to teaching, education or professional training
  • Public organizations or semipublic organizations representing governments
  • A project already completed by the application deadline
  • An incomplete application

Eligible projects include:

  • Production project of a work integrating an eco-design approach (set design, decor, costumes, etc.)
  • Creation or dissemination projects involving eco-design support (stage and exhibitions)
  • Activities of awareness and mediation in eco-responsibility in connection with the presentation of a work
  • Eco-responsible adaptation of an event or venue (e.g., introduction of recycling, purchase of eco-designed and sustainable materials, rethinking of derivative products)
  • Projects for the circulation of works in an eco-responsible manner
  • Projects for the production of more ecoresponsible promotional tools, e.g. digital transformation, elimination of printing, use of recycled paper, etc.
  • Actions conducing to obtain an eco-responsible accreditation
  • Projects to pool eco-responsible resources

EXPENSES

  • Artists’ fees and rights
  • Professional fees for contractors, collaborators, consultants, technicians and any other specialist who can bring a specific expertise to the project
  • Travel-related expenses
  • Living expenses (hotel and meals)
  • Expenses related to outreach and dissemination activities, including promotion and publicity costs
  • Equipment rental
  • Equipment transportation costs

DOCUMENTS

  • Copy of patent letters and by-laws for a new applicant or if there have been changes
  • Most recent financial statements of the applicant organization, if not already filed with the CALQ
  • Balance for the last financial year
  • Detailed budget
  • Detailed timetable
  • Written confirmation from partners, identifying the nature of their contribution to the project
  • Written confirmation from collaborators, if applicable
  • CV of main participating artists and collaborators
  • Press kit
