Assistance program for associations and organizations with a collective mandate

Programme d’aide aux associations et aux organismes à mandat collectif

DESCRIPTION

The program aims to support professional associations and organizations with a collective mandate in fulfilling their mission and carrying out their action plans, more specifically in the areas of representation, consultation, services and promotion, as well as professional and public recognition, such as the organization of galas and awards ceremonies.

The goals of the program are to encourage the influence, recognition and professional vitality of the cultural sectors supported by SODEC, and increase the competitiveness of Quebec cultural enterprises on national and international markets.

Core funding is generally granted for a three-year cycle. It is granted on an annual basis only in special cases.

CRITERIA

Applicants must:

  • Have its head office and principal place of business in Quebec, and demonstrate that effective control of the company is held by a majority of persons whose tax residence is in Quebec – head office and principal place of business means the place where the decision-making center is located and where the actual management of the company is exercised
  • Have been in operation for at least two years
  • Be a Quebec professional association, incorporated under the Companies Act, Part III or the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, that meets the definition of a professional association

or

  • Be a Quebec non-profit organization, incorporated under the Companies Act, Part III or the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, or be a cooperative incorporated under the Cooperatives Act or the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.

EXPENSES

  • Salaries and benefits
  • Professional fees Operating expenses (rent, insurance, taxes, supplies, IT infrastructure, maintenance, courier, etc.)
  • Mission-related activity expenses
  • Promotion and marketing expenses
  • Equipment rental expenses
  • Purchase of materials and equipment dedicated to activities
  • IT development expenses
  • Subcontracting expenses

Non eligible:

  • Expenses related to the sale of cultural products or services: purchase, distribution and transportation of cultural products, transaction fees, payment of royalties, commissions or sales taxes
  • Expenses for activities that fall outside the scope of the association’s or collective organization’s main mission
  • Expenses allocated to projects supported by other SODEC programs or supported in their entirety by other government programs.
