Development of organisations outside Quebec

Développement des organismes à l’extérieur du Québec

DESCRIPTION

Support for projects aimed at developing foreign markets and organising tours for organisations receiving operating funding from CALQ.

Objectives

  • To support the touring outside Québec of shows recognised for their excellence.
  • To enable organisations with a strategy for developing foreign markets to implement their annual activity plan.
  • To facilitate the development of touring projects through pre-tour promotional tours or participation in seminars, conferences, trade fairs and other events.
  • To contribute to the promotion of Québec’s culture elsewhere in Canada and abroad.

CRITERIA

To be eligible, the organisation must:

  • have a strategy for developing foreign markets;
  • have demonstrated consistency and, in each of the last three years, have carried out a significant volume of activities within its field.

For a tour to be eligible, each segment of the annual activity plan involving air travel must include a minimum of three performances. These performances must take place consecutively and form an efficient itinerary. If this is not the case, and from an environmentally responsible perspective, the organisation must demonstrate how they fit into its development strategy.

Organisations wishing to submit an application are invited to contact the person responsible for their file at the CALQ in advance.

EXPENSES

The CALQ’s financial contribution is provided in partnership with the organisation and other government or private sector stakeholders. This support will take the form of a grant, the maximum amount of which will be announced to the organisation.

The funds allocated by the CALQ under this programme may cover only part of the costs directly related to the tour or to market development:

  • accommodation costs (maximum of $200 per day), visa fees and transport costs related to the tour;
  • equipment rental costs;
  • insurance costs;
  • agency fees;
  • promotion and advertising costs.

For all significant expenses included in the budget, including those relating to the transport of equipment and materials, the organisation must attach estimates.

Costs incurred through the implementation of environmentally responsible measures or practices will be taken into account when determining the amount of the grant awarded.

In the event of changes to tour plans and following an agreement with the CALQ, the organisation may reallocate the funds awarded to another dissemination project outside Québec that forms part of its dissemination plan.
