International performing arts event for young audiences

Événement international jeune public en arts de la scène

DESCRIPTION

This program is a partnership between CALQ, Conseil des arts de Montreal and Heritage Canada, whom agree on the importance of providing Montreal with a recurrent event of international reach for young audiences, structuring the milieux of the performing arts.

Non-for-profit arts organizations interested in organizing and presenting an international performing arts event for young audiences in the Montreal island are invited to submit a proposal.

This event can be annual or biannual and its first edition must have taken place by June 30, 2026 at the latest. It is expected that this event will have a strong artistic vision reflected on a program of great quality. It should include productions from Montreal, Quebec and Canada, highlighting the expression of different communities and, specially, indigenous.

The event will offer important international visibility to the participating artists and organizations, proposing activities that facilitate the reflection and exchange between the different youth stakeholders. The selected organization will put in place activities to raise awareness and diversify audiences.

CRITERIA

This exceptional call is aimed to organizations that are eligible at once for CALQ, CAM and PCH, and it’s determined by the rules and conditions of current financial support programs offered by the three funding agencies.

Projects developed in partnerships in a spirit of resource sharing are eligible. In such a case, only one of the partners must be designated as representative and responsible of the application and related obligations.

Exceptionally, a selected organization that already counts with financial support through one or more programs offered by CALQ, CAM or PCH, is still eligible to submit an application for this program, regardless of this support already covering a part or the total of years for the preparation and production of the event.

For organizations constituted recently, the experience of individuals in related projects can substitute the requirement of having to be active for a minimum of one year.

The conditions of eligibility for the three partners can be consulted in the websites below:
