Québec – State of New York Artist-in-Residence Program

Résidence artistiques entre le Québec et l’État de New York

DESCRIPTION

An agreement between Quebec and the New York State calls for the creation of an annual exchange program of professional artists and writers under which the applicants selected engage in creative residencies and periods of artistic renewal in Québec and New York State. The artists participating in this program enjoy complete autonomy and define the objectives of their stay and elaborate the parameters and conditions for its realization. To support their application, the applicants must submit a letter of intent from the host organization that undertakes to offer them professional guidance during their period of residence and that specifies the nature of the collaboration that the two partners intend to establish in conjunction with the project.

Information of the stay
Interested applicants must submit to Conseil a residency project that includes a one- to three-month stay in New York State.

Applicants must find their own accommodation and establish the professional ties necessary to carry out their project, as the case may be.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDIO AND RESIDENCY PROGRAMS DIFFER CONSIDERABLY IN DURATION, DEADLINES AND SEASON IN WHICH THEY OCCUR. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THIS PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES AND TO REVIEW ALL DETAILS ON THE CALQ WEBSITE.
