Studio-Apartment of the Fondation Christoph Merian in Basel (Switzerland)

Ateliers-Résidences de la Fondation Christoph Merian à Bâle (Suisse)

DESCRIPTION

The Fondation Christoph Merian in Basel, in the Swiss German region, created the International Studio and Exchange Program in the Basel Region (IAAB) in the 1980s. Studios and studio-apartments were constructed in the St. Alban Tal quarter of Basel and collaborations were launched with various international institutions. In November 2014, the former IAAB was transformed into Atelier Mondial – International Arts Exchange Program Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (Atelier Mondial). The new studio and artist residency building is located just behind the SBB railway station on Freilager-Platz in the Dreispitz district, where galleries and alternative spaces abound.
Under this collaboration, a Québec artist can engage in a four-month sojourn in Basel, Switzerland and take advantage of the numerous possibilities offered to make professional contacts and further career development.
