Support for Promotion and Dissemination – Section 1C: Support for Commercial Theatres – Renovation

Programme d’aide à la promotion et à la diffusion – Volet 1C – Aide aux salles de cinéma commerciales – rénovation de salles

DESCRIPTION

This program aims to meet the needs in development, consolidation, and adaptation of companies and organizations working in the Quebec film industry in a context of changing offer, supply, promotion, and distribution of films. It also aims to stimulate revenues from the distribution of local and international films that are not widely presented as well as promoting the competitiveness of Quebec companies distributing and presenting Quebec cinema in national markets.

Section 1C focuses on supporting projects related to cinema renovation. The applicant company must submit a business plan, plans and specifications, as well as a complete funding package. The project must not have been completed at the time of the application.

CRITERIA

To be eligible for financial support, companies must meet the following specific conditions:

  • Operate one or more commercial cinemas, whether or not they are part of a chain, or operate a drive-in theatre, which are wholly owned by Quebec interests and whose activities relate mainly to film distribution
  • Have been in business for at least two years

EXPENSES

All expenses related to the renovation of the cinema or cinemas are eligible.
