Support for the Art Market – Section 2: Export

Soutien au marché de l’art – Volet 2 : Exportation

DESCRIPTION

This section of the program supports commercial galleries in organizing exhibitions or participating in foreign marketing activities for works by professional artists residing in Quebec.

CRITERIA

Open to: Commercial galleries

Applicants may apply to Section 1 of the program only or Sections 1 and 2 simultaneously.

Eligible projects include:

  • Participation in a trade show, fair, or other event with an international scope and a view to market entry for works by professional artists from Quebec
  • Exchange projects carried out abroad, such as the organization of an exhibition in partnership with a gallery or the consignment of works in a gallery
  • The development of promotional tools (catalogues, brochures, websites, etc.) for professional artists residing in Quebec and their works
  • In exceptional cases, projects of an exploratory nature that have been developed with the intention of breaking into foreign markets; in these cases, only costs related to travel, hospitality and accommodations are eligible

EXPENSES

  • Costs directly related to participation in trade shows or fairs, such as renting a space and registration or reservation fees
  • Costs directly related to the presentation and promotion of exhibitions or activities, such as the cost of transporting works, insurance, customs, installation, advertising, printing, etc.
  • Costs directly related to presentations abroad, such as transportation, accommodations and living expenses

DOCUMENTS

  • Completed SOD@ccès online application form
  • Declaration form for the applicant company
  • A list of professional artists residing in Quebec that are represented by the applicant company
  • Itemized budget
  • A list of exhibitions
  • A summary dossier for each artist, including a curriculum vitae or catalogue as well as a maximum of ten images with descriptions
  • Signed copies of the contracts established with the artists
  • Company charter or registration
  • Information on shareholders/directors
  • Financial statements
  • Master file, including:
    • Organizational structures for the applicant company and, if applicable, any affiliated companies, including shareholders
    • Curriculum vitae of the applicant company’s executives
    • Document(s) certifying that a member of the management staff has at least three years of experience in the administration and management of an organization with activities related to the trade of contemporary art
    • A description of activities and accomplishments
