This 4-hour afternoon session is a comprehensive, interactive workshop, designed to guide you or your organization to formulate clear, concise and compelling grants to maximize your chances of success.
Learn how to structure and write a grant that will present your artistic project in the strongest light to potential funders. Clarify the articulation of your artistic vision, find out about available resources, and participate in hands-on exercises using your own project/goal.
Aspects of grant writing to be covered include:
- the pitch – what’s your passion?
- the process
- support materials
- budgets
- updates on grants and programs, including the Canada Council for the Arts New Funding Model

WORKSHOP LEADER: June Park is an arts consultant, writer and cultural connector based in Montreal. After five years as the General Manager of Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal, she acted as Administrative Director at RUBBERBANDance Group. She also sat on the Executive of the Quebec Drama Federation as Treasurer for six years. She was previously Director of Marketing for Opera Ontario/Opera Hamilton, and on the Capital Campaign team at the Royal Ontario Museum. She continues to work with various groups committed to increasing the visibility and integration of culturally diverse artists. June has her M.A. from the University of Toronto, B.A. from U of Calgary, and is an Income Manager (University of Waterloo, Cultural Careers Council of Ontario). June is currently finishing a manuscript while working as a freelance grant writer and arts administrator. As a consultant she has worked with companies and individual artists from all disciplines.
