Special measure for the presentation of Quebec shows (April 1st – June 30, 2024)

DESCRIPTION

The program offers a financial safety net to organizations wishing to present live Quebec shows, as audiences gradually return to theaters, as well as financial assistance to encourage programming diversity, artistic risk and the inclusion of up-and-coming talent.

This measure seeks to assure Quebec citizens from all regions to access diverse programming, facilitating planning and fostering the openness and enrichment of programs  for presenters, as well as facilitating the integration of emerging artists.

To be eligible, the spectacles should be scheduled between April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.

CRITERIA

Professional organizations that present Quebec live shows from one or various disciplines such as Performing arts (circus art, theatre, dance, song, varieties), Multidisciplinary arts, Literature and Storytelling are eligible. Specifically:

  • Multidisciplinary and specialized broadcasters
  • Creation and production organizations that produce their own works
  • National and international events (Quebec productions only)

Organizations must:

  • Be a legally constituted not-for-profit organization with its head office in Quebec, whose majority of directors are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, living in Quebec
  • Have one year of existence and achievements presenting shows in Quebec, by April 1, 2023
  • Be a show’s presenter, either as a presenting organization, including festivals, or as a creation and production organization that presents its own works

To be eligible, shows must be scheduled between April 1 and June 30, 2024.

Broadcasters, festivals and events:

  • Signed contracts between the broadcaster and producer

Producers:

  • Signed contracts between the creation and production artists organization, copyright holders and other workers involved in the show

First-time applicants:

  • A dissemination data form for each spectacle space utilized. The form should include data from the year of reference and dissemination plan for this period. The year of reference should correspond to a full exercise between 2016 and 2020 and be the same for all used spaces
  • One organization’s identification form specifying applicant’s commitment, signed by the director of the organization
  • Financial statements for the chosen year of reference
  • Documents demonstrating the average price for the first five shows of the year of reference
  • Ticket sales reports for all shows requested as part of the application for a given period

  • Signed contracts between the broadcaster and producer

Producers:

  • Signed contracts between the creation and production artists organization, copyright holders and other workers involved in the show
