ArtistsInspire $1500 School Grant Applications Are Open!
“ArtistsInspire is a fantastic way to bring all facets of art into the classroom. It was easy to navigate and there was help through the process when I had any questions. As a teacher of 22 years I must say this has been the easiest grant to access, and the one that led to the greatest result and most smiles from my students…”
Teacher Deborah Moram, Laurentian Elementary School
We’re excited that the first ArtistsInspire projects of 2022-23 are taking place! Applications for year 4 of the ArtistsInspire School Grants are still open. This program connects professional Artists working in every discipline with English public schools across Quebec. Every eligible school has one $1500 ArtistsInspire Grant for the 2022-2023 school year to cover the costs of bringing a Teaching Artist into their classrooms.

In addition to the fun of being creative, ArtistsInspire projects can also address key issues in schools through the art-making process, including diversity, inclusion, and belonging through our partnership with LEARN on the I Belong project, to issues surrounding mental health, sustainability, climate change and more. For a custom workshop, educators are invited to Connect with an Artist to explore possibilities for hands-on Arts & Culture experiences in every discipline.
In exciting news, ELAN ArtEd has received additional funding from Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) to expand our professional development training in Youth Mental Health to include Child and Pre-teen Mental Health! This training will help Teaching Artists respond even better to the situations they encounter in the classroom. We love speaking with educators and hope your enthusiasm will encourage them to contact us for more information at artistsinspiregrants@quebec-elan.org and/or phone us at 438-979-1171. See our Facebook page to like and share this year’s program post and invite students and educators to learn with us. Developing students’ creativity through Artist-facilitated virtual or in-person Arts & Culture experiences is what we do!
