“[ArtistsInspire] got me motivated again. Laura was so dynamic, I wanted to participate, it wasn’t just the kids!”
— Teacher Nancy Catchpaw, Drummondville Elementary School, In the words of the teachers, Stories & News
We’re excited to report that applications are pouring in for Year 3 of ArtistsInspire $1500 School Grants, with projects launched, confirmed and even completed for the 2021-22 season! Numerous School Grant projects have already taken place over the fall, with Stephanie Nairn’s GROOVE movement workshops at Pope Memorial Elementary School kicking off the school year. The school gave a 5-star rating and said “It allowed students to progress in their creativity and for some in terms of their confidence. Students and staff really enjoyed their experience and got to release any tensions they may have had while dancing.”
Teachers often appreciate ArtistsInspire projects for themselves as much as for their students. As Teacher Nancy Catchpaw of Drummondville Elementary School puts it, “I’ve been teaching drama for twenty years. I was in a funk and wasn’t sure what to do… I thought, I need something new, something fresh. [ArtistsInspire] was proposed to me… I was very, very, very pleased. It got me motivated again. [Laura Teasdale] was so dynamic, I wanted to participate, it wasn’t just the kids!”
We want to inspire more teachers and students. Applications are still being accepted for the 2021-22 school year!
