DESCRIPTION

This grant seeks to make a larger number of high quality performances accessible across all regions of Quebec while also ensuring them a larger audience and longer duration.

CRITERIA

Open to: Creative and/or production organizations, Service organizations

 

  • Applications must be accompanied by confirmation of at least one guaranteed performance to be eligible (applications for demonstration performances are not subject to this rule)
  • Applicants can include the city of Ottawa with other cities visited in a tour of Quebec
  • The project must have guaranteed ticket revenue (with the exception of demonstration performances)
  • The start date of the project must correspond to the date of the first activity (with the exception of travel)
  • Projects cannot be focused on participation in a national or international event supported by CALQ or SODEC
  • Applications must be submitted at least three months prior to the start of the project; however, an application to present a demonstration performance (RIDEAU, ROSEQ or Parcours Danse) must be submitted at least four weeks before the beginning of the project
  • Maximum of eight concurrent projects with CALQ per year
  • Organizations receiving CALQ’s operating funding cannot submit a new application in any program if their fiscal year has been over for four months or longer and a report on the use of the grant, including financial statements, has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • Regardless of the program or section, an application cannot be made if a funded project has been completed for three months or longer and a report on the use of the grant has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • An applicant cannot present a project that has already been reviewed and rejected in the same fiscal year unless it has been significantly altered
  • Applications must be accompanied by confirmation of at least one guaranteed presentation to be eligible
  • Applicant organizations may include the City of Ottawa along with the other cities it visits as part of its Quebec tour

Ineligible projects include:

  • Projects that do not generate ticket revenues or guaranteed fees revenue (except for demonstration performances)
  • Projects involving participation in a national or international event supported by CALQ or SODEC, or as part of a popular festival

EXPENSES

  • Travel (maximum $200 per day) and transportation costs associated with the tour and pre-tour
  • Equipment rental fees
  • Insurance fees
  • Agency fees
  • Promotion costs

DOCUMENTS

  • Completed CALQ application form
  • Copies of financial statements from the most recent completed fiscal year
  • Copies of signed contracts or letters of commitment for at least three events
  • Copies of the organization’s letters patent
  • Copies of the organization’s general regulations
  • Copies of contracts with related organizations, if applicable
  • Supporting audiovisual materials
