Québec-Taiwan artist and studio apartment Residency exchanges

Échanges d’artistes et d’ateliers-résidences Québec-Taïwan

DESCRIPTION

As part of this exchange, a Québec filmmaker or videographer will be able to complete a two-month research and writing residency in Taipei at Taipei Artist Village. The residency is designed for an artist to engage in a sojourn in October and November of 2022, making available a suitable environment and the means to produce and disseminate their works.

Information of the host institution
The THAV is the first district to be officially designated as a historic Taipei community. Both organizations are under the direction of the Taipei Culture Foundation. Over the years, the district has become a place where nature, art and community coexist and interact, based on geographical environments and a unique history.

The TAV and THAV artist residency program develops a multinational network of government and associations collaborators. The studios are open to Taiwanese and international artists of all disciplines and practices.

The selected Quebec artist will be hosted in one of the studio-workshops (including a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom) in Taipei Artist Village, located in the centre of Taipei near the central station. The TAV provides artists, depending on their discipline, with a carpentry studio, a sound recording studio, a cinema, a darkroom, a piano, a dance room and studio, an exhibition space and Wi-Fi connection.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDIO AND RESIDENCY PROGRAMS DIFFER CONSIDERABLY IN DURATION, DEADLINES AND SEASON IN WHICH THEY OCCUR. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THIS PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES AND TO REVIEW ALL DETAILS ON THE CALQ WEBSITE.
