Support for school trips in a cultural environment

Soutien aux sorties scolaires en milieu culturel

DESCRIPTION

Since the fall of 2019, the Quebec government has been providing financial support to school service centers, school boards and private educational institutions in order to allow all young people in preschool, elementary and secondary schools to participate in two free cultural field trips each year.

As part of this government strategy, the support measure for school field trips will increase financial support to arts organizations presenting professional works, exhibitions or performances to enable them to offer activities or performances to a greater number of students during the 2024-2025 school year.

Objectives of the measure

  • Support professional arts organizations to enable them to respond to increased demand from schools for participation in artistic activities
  • Encourage more Quebec students to discover and experiment with a range of artistic disciplines
  • Multiply opportunities for young people to enjoy cultural experiences with artists and cultural mediators at professional venues
  • Valorize the work of artists and cultural mediators who work with young audiences by encouraging higher remuneration

CRITERIA

This support is available to the following organizations:

  • National and international events
  • Professional dissemination and production organizations

Conditions for admissibility:

  • A mission-supported organization may not reapply to any program if its fiscal year is four months old and the grant utilization report, including financial statements, has not been received and approved by the Board
  • Regardless of the program or component, no application can be submitted if a supported project is three months overdue and the grant utilization report has not been received and approved. The official project completion date is determined by the applicant at the time of application. If there is a change, the applicant must notify the Council immediately.
  • An applicant may not have more than eight projects under review, supported, in progress, or completed within the last three months for which a report has not been submitted and approved.
